Wayfinding Strategy Styling
Geisinger Health
Project Details
For Geisinger Health System, I worked as the asset designer on a wayfinding strategy package developed at EXIT Design. The project focused on clarifying navigation across evolving hospital environments, including the South Tower development and the existing Wyoming Valley campus. I designed a series of exterior and interior maps that translate complex spatial and logistical information into clear, usable visuals. The exterior maps communicate entrance hierarchy, naming conventions, and overall circulation, while also outlining patient journeys from arrival to destination. These were especially important in addressing how new additions integrate with existing structures. The interior maps focus on building-level navigation, simplifying circulation across departments, corridors, and key decision points. To support a broader understanding of the campus, I also developed a stacking diagram that visualizes vertical organization, showing how floors, departments, and elevator systems connect across the site. Together, these materials were designed as a cohesive system to help both users and stakeholders better understand and navigate a complex, expanding healthcare environment.

This project also became an exploration of how EXIT’s evolving brand identity could be applied across wayfinding strategy materials. I worked with newly developed iconography to create a consistent visual language across maps and diagrams, using icons as both navigational tools and brand elements. The color palette was applied with restraint, helping to establish hierarchy and guide movement without overwhelming the information.
